In this writing program, boys will learn how to tell their story and speak their truth, developing their voice both as writers and leaders. Over the course of the quarter, their instructor Mark Lukach will guide them through an introspective process of personal growth, helping teens discover what it means to be a healthy, empowered man in a culture that often demands their silence. Breaking from the pressures of toxic masculinity, Mark will support and mentor boys in the work of becoming brave young men.

As with all our programs, we use the Amherst Writing Method, a methodology rooted in the belief that everyone is a writer, that all feedback be positive, and that our writing voice will continually grow clearer and stronger, the more it is validated and encouraged.

Participants must be entering grades 6 to 8.

This class is open to males only.
